iO9, an internet hub of SciFi geek fandom, just posted a brilliant essay written by ScienceThriller master James Rollins, author of the wildly popular Sigma Force series (most recent release: EYE OF GOD). In this essay, Rollins talks about how he gets thriller science ideas from real scientists. He reveals some of the secrets of the craft of writing a page-turning science thriller. And best of all, he mentions something close to my heart: the hope that putting science in exciting novels will get people, especially kids, interested in science.
