Microbiology video contest

When I was a kid, you could win prizes for entering essay contests. As I continue to post science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) contests here at ScienceThrillers.com, I’m seeing a trend away from written works to videos.

Here is yet another opportunity for people of any age (but generally, adults) to create a short STEM video. The theme: “how is microbiology making the world a better place?” Enter to win cash or a trip to the American Society for Microbiology’s annual meeting.

Calling all Scientists! Show Us Your Science!

Create a short video that explores the theme “How is my microbiology making the world a better place?” from any perspective – personally, professionally, in your country, in the global community.

Open to all ASM Members – in the U.S. and around the world – prizes include cash awards and a trip to the 2014 ASM Annual Meeting, where the top video will premier!

Be a part of something great – Grab your camera or cell phone – Chronicle the impact of microbiology globally!

Here’s how to take part:

  • Extended Deadline: January 27, 2014
  • Length: 30-90 seconds
  • Subject: Illustrate the impact of your science on the world
